  • Alessandra Cristina Pedro

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering and a Master’s degree in Food Science and Technology from the State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG). She earned her Ph.D. in Food Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), including a research period at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid – Department of Pharmacy and Nutrition (Madrid, Spain). She completed her postdoctoral studies with a CNPq fellowship at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR), working in the Biotechnology Laboratory.

    Currently, she is a professor in the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology, coordinator of the Bioprocess and Biotechnology Engineering program, and teaches in the Pharmacy and Biomedical Science programs at Universidade Positivo. Her areas of expertise include nanotechnology, adsorption, sustainable packaging, functional foods, and the reuse of agro-industrial residues.

  • Fabiana Antunes de Andrade

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná, and both a Master’s and a Ph.D. in Genetics from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). She completed her postdoctoral studies in the Graduate Program in Internal Medicine and Health Sciences at UFPR.

    Currently, she is a professor in the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology and in the Medical School at Universidade Positivo. Her areas of expertise include Human Genetics, Immunogenetics, and Evidence-Based Healthcare.

  • João Cesar Zielak

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    He holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnological Processes (2005), a Master’s degree in Cell Biology (2001), and a Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry (1999), as well as postgraduate specializations in Public Health (2009) and Implant Dentistry (2012).

    He is a Full Professor at Universidade Positivo, Co-founder, Technical Director, and Senior Researcher at Curityba Biotech (since 2006), and also works as a dental surgeon at Zielak Odontologia. He has experience in the fields of Biotechnology and Dentistry, with an emphasis on Clinical Dentistry, Implantology, Orofacial Harmonization, Biomaterials, Histology, and Health Innovation.

  • João Luiz Coelho Ribas

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    He holds a Ph.D. in Pharmacology and a Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, with postgraduate specializations in Distance Education and Educational Technologies, Teacher Training for Distance Learning, and Higher Education Teaching. He earned undergraduate degrees in Pharmacy with a focus on Clinical Analysis, and in Biomedicine with concentrations in Clinical Pathology, Aesthetic Biomedicine, and Auditing.

    He has experience in teaching, academic management, development of distance learning materials, Clinical Analysis, Laboratory Management, and Health Biotechnology. Currently, he is a professor in the Biomedicine and Bioprocess and Biotechnology Engineering programs at Universidade Positivo, a faculty advisor in the Master’s and Ph.D. programs in Industrial Biotechnology, and serves as the coordinator of Graduate Programs.

  • Ligia Alves da Costa Cardoso

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    He holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnological and Food Processes (2008) and a Master’s degree in Biotechnological and Food Processes (2004) from the Institut National Polytechnique de Lorraine, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Food Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2003).

    He is currently a full-time professor at Universidade Positivo and a researcher at the university’s Research Center. His expertise lies in Food Science and Technology, with an emphasis on Food Engineering, focusing on topics such as Sporobolomyces ruberrimus, torularhodin, bioprocesses, spinosad, and Saccharopolyspora spinosa.

  • Marcelo de Paula Loureiro

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    He holds a medical degree from the Federal University of Paraná (1995) and completed his residency in General Surgery at Hospital Nossa Senhora das Graças in Curitiba between 1994 and 1997. He specialized in Laparoscopic Surgery at the University of Bordeaux II (1998), during which he also served as a fellow at the European Institute of Laparoscopic Surgery (Talence Hospital – Bordeaux). He earned a Master’s degree in Principles of Surgery from FEMPAR (2003) and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Bariatric Surgery at Hôpital Saint Eloi (Montpellier, France) in 2014.

    He is a member of several surgical societies. He is a full member of the Brazilian Society of Laparoscopic Surgery (SOBRACIL), where he served as president of the Southern Regional Chapter for two consecutive terms, as well as president of the Paraná Chapter. He is also a full member of the Brazilian College of Surgeons (CBC), the Brazilian Society for Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (SBCBM), and the Brazilian Hernia Society. Internationally, he is a member of the European Association of Endoscopic Surgery (EAES), the American Hernia Society (AHS), the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO), and the French Society for Endoscopic Surgery (SFCE), where he has also served on the advisory board.

    He is the founder and General Director of the Jacques Perissat Institute, a center for training in minimally invasive surgery, established in 2004, where he has also served as an instructor since its foundation.

    He is currently a professor and researcher in the Professional Master’s and Doctoral Programs in Biotechnology at Universidade Positivo, where he advises graduate students and coordinates the courses in Biomaterials and Entrepreneurship. He leads research lines in Medical Innovation, Surgical Education, and Experimental Research in Obesity and Metabolic Disorders. He is also Head of Digestive Surgery at INC Hospital in Curitiba.

    With over 21 years of experience as a gastrointestinal surgeon, his practice focuses on Gastrointestinal Surgery, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery (obesity), Abdominal Wall Hernia Surgery, and Hyperhidrosis Surgery. He is the author of a book and several scientific articles in the areas of digestive surgery, surgical education, and medical innovation.

  • Márcia Regina Pincerati

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná (2003), a Master’s degree in Genetics from the same institution (2006), and a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of São Paulo (2011). He is currently a Full Professor (Level I) at Universidade Positivo in Curitiba, Brazil.

    His expertise lies in Genetics and Molecular Biology, with an emphasis on Human and Medical Genetics. His research focuses on topics such as pemphigus, autoimmunity, immunogenetics, genetic polymorphisms, natural selection, Amerindian populations, and molecular neuroscience.

  • Mariana De Araujo Etchepare

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    She holds a Ph.D. in Food Science and Technology from the Federal University of Santa Maria (2017). She also completed a teaching degree through the Special Undergraduate Program for Teacher Training in Professional and Technological Education in the field of Food Production at the same institution (2013), and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition from Centro Universitário Franciscano (2009).

    She is currently a faculty member at Universidade Positivo and a researcher at the university’s Research Center. Her expertise lies in Food Science and Technology, with an emphasis on Food Microbiology. Her research focuses primarily on the microencapsulation of bioactive compounds and the development of new food products.

  • Maura Harumi Sugai Guérios

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Bioprocess and Biotechnology Engineering and a Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR), as well as a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), which included a research internship at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland. She also completed postdoctoral research in Biochemistry and Chemical Engineering at UFPR.

    Currently, she is a faculty member in the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology and teaches undergraduate courses in Bioprocess and Biotechnology Engineering and Energy Engineering at Universidade Positivo. Her research interests include microbiology, fermentation processes, and mathematical modeling.

  • Renato Mitsunori Nisihara

    Professor of the Graduate Program in Industrial Biotechnology

    He is a Professor and Researcher in Immunology and Medical Microbiology. He earned his medical degree from the Federal University of Paraná (1990), and holds a Master’s (2004) and Ph.D. (2009) in Internal Medicine (Capes 5) from the same institution.

    He is a Full Professor of Immunology and Medical Microbiology in the Medical Programs at Universidade Positivo and Faculdade Evangélica Mackenzie do Paraná. He has experience in the diagnosis of autoimmune diseases, with main research interests in biomarkers and the pathophysiology of autoimmune disorders.
